Bake Sale at the Farmer's Market

Last Thursday, the Boston-area Free Agents of Hope got together for a fundraiser bake sale at the Codman Square Farmer's Market. It was a great turnout at the market and our supporter wall filled up quickly.

The evening before the market, we were hard at work baking. Thanks to the time and energy by group members Sumaya, myself & Rodney, we were able to offer apple crisp, brownies, carrot cake, banana bread and a chocolate fountain! While some turned out better than others, it was definitely a lot of fun preparing all of them.

At the market the next day, Shaquille, myself & Rev. Loesch were on hand to help setup the tents & tables. With the support of the farmer's market organizers, we were able showcase our trip and the work that Esperanza does. The whole afternoon, we met with residents, offered free samples, and shared our story. One by one, as people made their donations, we added them to our wall of supporters. Thank you to the Codman Square community for helping us get to México (and back)!!

At any rate, we are only 3.5 weeks away from the trip and are just putting the finishing touches on our group logistics before we head to Tijuana on July 25th. Stay tuned for updates from our service trip!
